Mahudha Kelayani Mandal was established in 1943 with a view to impart educational facilities to the students of Mahudha Town and the surrounding villages of Mahudha Taluks from Kinder-Garten level to higher level. A big step towards this direction was taken when a boys high school named “M.K.M. High school” and a girls’ high school named “Mahudha Nagrik Sahakari Bank Girls High school” were established in 1948 and 1989 respectively.

There was not a single college in Mahudha Taluka for higher education up to 1968 Students of Mahudha Taluka had to go to Ahmedabad or Nadiad for higher education after matriculation. Most of the students of poor families were compelled to stop their further studies. To solve this acute problem, Mahudha Kelavani Mandal decided to start Arts & Commerce College. The College building was inaugurated on 26 January 1967 by late Shri Ramanbhai Bhailalbhai Amin (Director, Alembic Industries & President of All India Industries and Commerce) Mahudha Kelavani Mandal started Arts College in 1968 & Commerce College in 1969. with the donation of Rs.71,111 given by Late Shri Motilal Dahyabhai Shah. & Rs. 51,111-given by Late Shri Bakulbhal Dalabhai Patel Considering this big amount of donation the college was christened as M.D.Shah Commerce and B.D.Patel Arts College Our college is affiliated to Gujarat University which was established in 1949.

One Primary school was started in 1954 named “Late C.KPatel Prathmik Shala”. Another Primary school was started by the Mandal in 1988 later on it is christened as Shri K.M.Patel Primary school due to a huge donation of Rs. 261000-A Kinder-Garten was started by the Mandal in 1963 later on it is christened as Shri D.K Patel Kinder-Garten due to a huge donation of Rs. 25000/-,Our Mandal has taken the necessity of women education seriously and established Smt.J.B.Patel Mahila Samaj in the year 1978.In the year 1977, with the help of two donors and their donations of Rs. 61000/- and 41000/- respectively our Mandal built a new building of Library and built an Assembly hall with the donation of Rs.51000/- for college.

Our Mandal is very much conscious and serious about environment, to protect our environment our Mandal has been organizing Tree Plantation Programs since 1988 and has won the highest Award in this field in the year 1988-89 in Kheda District. In 1993-94 Our Mandal has celebrated its Golden Jubilee and our college has celebrated Silver Jubilee simultaneously.

At present, Mahudha Kelayani Mandal is providing educational facilities from kinder garten to graduation level. Eight educational institutions and one student welfare store are in service to the society under the banner of Mahudha Kelavani Mandal. Not only the students of general category but the students of scheduled caste and the students of other socially and economically backward classes and some handicapped students also have been able to complete their graduation to build their career.

Furthermore we have been running a physiotherapy centre since 2019 for the benefit of the people of Mahudha and surrounding 45 villages with token charges under the auspices of Charusat University – Changa.
